The war in Afghanistan is far from over. Suicide bombings, by ISIS, in Kabul and Kandahar killed more than 50 people in 4 separate attacks. Shah Marai was one of the 9 journalists who were killed in the attack. He started off as a driver for Agence France-Presse and then became a photojournalist with them for 22 years. Through his photographs of Afghanistan he shows the world, both, the extraordinary beauty of the country, and the horrors that war brought into it. His story must be told.
