Armenia Crisis

May 2nd, 2018

Today in Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan did not win enough votes by the ruling Republican Party to be the country's interim Prime Minister. He is a journalist and editor of the Armenian Newspaper Haykakan Zhamanak. More recently, he was the leader of the nationwide protest that forced long term Armenian President, Sargsyan, to resign. Pashinyan's vision for Armenia has won him the support of tens of thousand of Armenians including students, teachers and soldiers. Thousands led a peaceful protest after he failed to be elected, and Armenia's political future remains unknown.
